At first glance, the midi-skirt might seem like a challenging length. But, midies have replaced maxi dresses, mini dresses, and below-the-knee skirts as the hem length du jour because of a very simple reason: they hit your leg at the skinniest part of your ankle (so basically thinning you out), thus, giving you an extra visual boost in height... *highfives. With a nipped-in waist and body-accentuating shape, the midi skirt should be flattering on everyone, but styling details often get in the way of nailing the trend.
With the right design details (Like Mai skirt's lace details), worn with the right shoes and the right top is tucked in the right way, it can immediately become a Fashion-Week-worthy ensemble. Here are a few of Mai fav ways to style the midi skirt. Lets let the legs speak for themselves.
- A slim top that is tucked into a midi skirt, with a killer pair of length giving shoes. An example of this would be Mai outfit that I am wearing today.
- More of a sandals type of gal? No worries, you can sport a midi too! A pair of strappy sandals and a cute cropped top puts a lil' pep into the midi skirt.
- Want a look to be more business-casual? A simple button-down pairs perfectly with a structured midi skirt! I would recommend slipping into a mule shoe or a pair of flats to complete this look.
