Vietnam inspires a certain kind of style and fashion sense for me. The beautiful landscapes, colorful food, busy streets, and the culture all make for some amazing opportunities to play around with outfits. I loved experimenting with different ways I could not only pull from the designers, weather, and style from Vietnam culture, but also stand out (in Mai way). In Vietnam, you want absorb the fast paced, beautiful scenery into your outfit. I'm talking fun colors and prints, something you can easily walk around in from place to place (or jump on a moped if the situation calls for it) and unique accessories from the country to tie it all together. Here I am displaying all that, at the amazing church Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon.
(A must go in Vietnam...the largest church built by the French since 1880! All building materials were imported from France. The outside wall of the cathedral was built with bricks from Marseille. These bricks have retained their bright red color until today! You might have also heard about it back in 2005 as the church where a statue of the Virgin Mary reportedly 'shed tears.')
